Ministry of Health in Gaza, Ashraf al-Qedra.
The Ministry of Health in Gaza Strip appealed all concerned authorities and human rights institutions to urgently intervene to stop the suffering of hundreds of patients due to a severe shortage in medicine and fuel within Gaza's hospitals.

Ashraf al-Qedra, Gaza Ministry of Health spokesman, said that all human rights institutions should intervene to save the lives of patients in desperate need for medical treatment, especially the lives of five newborn conjoined twins who are suffering from incomplete growth.

Pointing out, the health sector will be deteriorated because of the very critical conditions continued since Israeli authorities have imposed a suffocated siege for more than five years, preventing adequate quantities of medical supplies into Gaza Strip.

Gaza's hospitals are facing also an acute shortage of fuel needed to run electric generators particularly in sections of renal diseases, intensive care, open-heart surgeries, and atheterization.
Noting that Gaza's hospitals need 1.5 to 2 million litres of fuel, while the Ministry of Health receives only 400 thousand litres.
