Speaking today in Dar es Salaam during the breakfast meeting, the BancABC Tanzania Head of Retail and Business Banking Joyce Malai said the bank understand the role of women business in promoting the economy of our country and that BancABC is committed in promoting women’s empowerment and that is why we have partnered with the Tanzania Women Chamber of Commerce in this monthly breakfast meeting.

Malai said that participation of the bank has come with a lot of benefits as they have learned that the TWCC attends several business workshop and visits in China citing an example that 150 business women participated in Canton Trade Fair between April and October this year. However, during their visits, they have been experiencing challenges in accessing reliable quick money transfer for immediate purchase.

‘Im very happy to tell you that BancABC offers such a solution for quick money transfer while on your visits to China. We have a Yuan Card which is a reloadable card which allows users to get exact value in Chinese currency deposited into their card and hence doing away with the uncertainty that exchange rates come with for entrepreneurs and, business people like you and even students in demand of Yuan in China or whichever part of the world they are in’, said Malai.

Malai added that in partnering with the TWCC, BancABC is set to benefit as being part of world’s campaign to support women economically, enhancing its visibility, increasing its networking and widening and increasing of customer’s base.

Speaking at the same occasion, the Tanzania Women Chamber of Commerce Acting Executive Director Mwanjuma Hamza said that TWCC is an umbrella connecting business Women across all sectors in all regions of Tanzania Mainland and Zanzibar.

‘One of our main activities is to enhance market for business women which includes participation in various trade fairs and visits in and out of the country, said Hamza adding that from January to December this year, Tanzania Women Chamber of Commerce has managed to support more than 400 women to participate in various National, Regional and International trade fairs and exchanges.

Hamza said that 150 business women participated in business visit to China between April and October, 100 participated in exchange visit to Germany in November and currently 30 are attending East Africa Exhibition in Eldoret, Kenya.
