We thank God for giving us the privilege of seeing in the New Year 2017. As we celebrate the start of the New Year, there are thought provoking questions we all need to ask ourselves, "Why has God given us another new beginning, another year? Why has He given us more days to live? Is it because we're better than those who passed away last year?" The Bible gives us the answers to these questions:

If you're living a sinful life, God has given you more days so that you can repent of your sins, before you die. God says in EZEKIEL 33:11, "Say to them: 'As I live', says the Lord God, 'I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from his way and live. Turn, turn, from your evil ways! ..." (NKJV). "Or do you despise the riches of His goodness, forbearance, and longsuffering, not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance? (ROMANS 2:4). It would be great if you would start the New Year by taking some time to find out how you can be set free from sin, here: www.bishopzacharykakobe.org/en/the-greatest-miracle

If you're a born-again Christian, you ought to know that we're saved in order to serve God (EXODUS 8:20). God gives us more days to live, so that we may win more people to Jesus Christ. "For to me, living means opportunities for Christ, and dying - well, that's better yet! But if living will give me more opportunities to win people to Christ, then I really don't know which is better, to live or die! (PHILIPPIANS 1:21-22, TLB). "He also spoke this parable: 'A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard, and he came seeking fruit on it and found none. Then he said to the keeper of his vineyard, 'Look, for three years I have come seeking fruit on this fig tree and find none. Cut it down; why does it use up the ground?' But he answered and said to him, 'Sir, let it alone this year also, until I dig around it and fertilize it. And if it bears fruit, well. But if not, after that you can cut it down'." (LUKE 13:6-9 NKJV). Beloved, you have been given more days to live so that you can bear more fruit. The number one resolution in your New Year resolutions must be, "WINNING MORE PEOPLE TO CHRIST". Wishing you and your family a joyful, healthy, prosperous and happiest New Year!
