I am writing this letter with great excitement to inform you that the 2013 Tanzania Women of Achievement Awards (TWAA) have been officially launched.

These prestigious awards that were started in 2009 seek to recognize women, currently working in the geographical boundaries of Tanzania, paying tribute to the most exceptional and achieving women in the country who have not only achieved success in their own respective fields but have made a tangible difference in their communities and society as a whole.

On its third season now, the awards have grown nationally to become the pre-eminent awards for women in the country and have gained the interest of Tanzanians demonstrated through the growth in the number and quality of nominations, as well as the overall support by prominent organizations, the government and the public.

Without the generous support of partners like you TWAA would never have been successful.

We therefore hope that you will join us once again this year to help nominate a woman achiever for one of the below categories:

Arts and Culture, Business Entrepreneur, Information and Communication, Sports, Professional, Education, Health, Social Welfare, Science and Technology, Public Sector and Young Achiever.

The award ceremony will take place on the International Women’s day - 8th March 2013 at the Serena Hotel in Dar es Salaam. This year’s theme is “The gender agenda: Women in decision-making”.

Attached herewith please find the press release for the 2013 TWAA launch and the nomination form.

We thank you in advance for your generous support and for understanding the importance of women empowerment.

Yours Sincerely,

Hellen Kiwia
