MOZAMBIQUE , UGANDA , NAMIBIA AND SOUTH AFRICA
DStv audiences are invited to Mozambique , Uganda , Namibia and South Africa this week as M-Net's STUDIO 53 makes stopovers at these destinations during the latest episode of the lifestyle program!
First stop is Mozambique where STUDIO 53’s Katia visits the Lakshi Holistic Centre, a centre that incorporates different practices from yoga, reiki and tarot reading. DStv audiences can join Katia as she goes through all these practices and learns something new about herself.
Next STUDIO 53 heads to Uganda to chat to Jonas Byarybanga. Jonas discovered dance when he was 12 years old and quickly became the star performer of Buddo Junior School ’s dance club. He continued to steal the limelight, at 17 years old he caught the eye of Alliance Françoise Director Didier Martina and began his destiny to dance on the world’s stage. Passionate to share his love of dance Jonas established the Keiga Dance Company. While he has performed across the continent and around the world, he makes sure he’s in Uganda for Kampala ’s Dance Week. Gaetano was present to see a performance that was filled with passion and honesty.
Also in the program, STUDIO 53’s Sitandwa experiences the beauty of Namibia ’s harbour town of Swakopmund , which is affectionately nicknamed “Sleeping Beauty”, as the pretty town is often covered in blankets of mist. It’s the perfect place for visitors who want to explore both Namibia ’s desserts and her coastline, but there’s plenty to discover in the town itself. Swakopmund is a charming combination of Greek mythology, German architecture and African sunshine
Lastly STUDIO 53’s Rosie attends the opening night of The Lion and The Jewel in Johannesburg . Set in a small Nigerian village the story explores the value of traditional Yoruba ways versus European innovations. It’s a comedy with dark undertones, as the characters search for their destiny and question their dreams. The old struggles against the new, tradition fights innovation, and the past challenges the present
