U.S. AMBASSADOR AWARDS TSH320 MILLION TO 19 COMMUNITY IMPROVEMENT ORGANIZATIONS

On December 13, 2011 the United States Ambassador to Tanzania Alfonso E. Lenhardt awarded USD 195,000 (approximately Tshs 320 Million) to 19 organizations, clinics and schools for self improvement projects as part of Community Grants Program. Financed by the American people through the U.S. State Department the program aims at providing direct assistance to innovative small community based projects. Pictured is Ambassador Lenhardt,  Sister Annatolia Mgubike of Franciscan Sisters of Charity in Mbingu Ifakara and orphans cared at the Charity's orphanage, from left, Irene Muhenga, Angela Simba and Patrick Mbombwe after the Ambassador presented the charity with Tshs 6.8 million to build a community playground.
